“Green Olympics” Lecturers Visit Floral Gardens in Beijing Communities
Lecturers learn more information during their visit
 

On August 22, 2005, members of the “Green Olympics, Green Action” lecturer group attended an Exhibition on Scientific and Technological Results on Greening and Beautification of Beijing City. More than 50 information officials from the Environment Protection Bureaus of all districts and counties of Beijing city also attended the occasion. The theme of the exhibition is “Green Olympics, Chorus of Flowers.”

After seeing the exhibition, the lecturers and officials visited two communities and had conversation with local residents in Bajiaobeilu and Dachengxiang, where local residents spontaneously take part in developing and protecting floral environment in the neighborhoods.

The lecturers learned from local residents a number of principles of self-development of community flora, including public participation, adopting easy-to-grow species, diversified ways of greening and observing rules of nature.

The lecturers said they have increased knowledge and deepened understanding of the topic. They said they will continue to disseminate the fine model of community flora development to more communities and schools through their lectures.
