A recent survey themed "2005 what do you work for?"
indicates that 78.3% of the interviewed esteem "being respected"
as the most valued factor of their work values.
According to a China Youth report, the survey has collected
7,632 valid questionnaires by Apr. 20. Besides "being respected,"
the most valued factors include "influence at work"
(76.6%), "benefits for personal growth" (74.4%), "sense
of accomplishment" (73.1%) and "recognition of one's
work" (72.9%).
The survey indicates that women, youth, clerks and workers of
state-owned enterprises esteem "recognition of one's work"
as the most valued factors of their work values, while men, the
senior, management and employees of private companies or foreign-funded
ventures focus more on their "influence at work."
More over, the young esteem "benefits for personal growth,"
the senior value "sense of accomplishment," and employees
of governmental organs and institutions give weight to "stability."
