Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that a healthy relationship between China and the United States is in accordance with the fundamental interests of both countries and is conducive to the peace, stability and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

The international situation is confronting profound changes, Li said, adding that China and the United States, as the world’ s largest developing country and the world’ s largest developed country, share increasingly broader common interests and shoulder ever more important responsibilities.

China will work with the United States to implement the consensus reached by Chinese President Hu Jintao and U.S. President Barack Obama in January on building a bilateral cooperative partnership based upon mutual respect and mutual benefit and enhancing dialogue, communication and cooperation, in an effort to advance the healthy development of bilateral ties, he noted.
