Zhou Hanmin, one of the organizers of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, shared his experiences with a group of civil servants and a group of student representatives in Hong Kong on February 15.
Zhou, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, gave a talk to 62 ranking civil servants in the morning. The talk was arranged by the Hong Kong Government to learn Shanghai’s experiences in hosting the World Expo.
Zhou answered questions from the audience about choosing the Expo theme, adopting innovations, crowd control and visitors’ good manner.
In the afternoon, Zhou shared his Expo experiences with 70 Hong Kong students from Kiangsu-Chekiang College, Queen’s College, Ma Ko Pan Memorial College, Tang King Po School and Queen Elizabeth School.
The 70 students were selected from 4,000 Hong Kong and Macau students who visited Shanghai Expo last August. Fifteen students also talked about their Expo experiences at the meeting.
Zhou also met several Hong Kong government officials, such as Stephen S. L. Lam, secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, and Rita Lau Ng Wai-Lan, secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, while he was in Hong Kong.
