Moldova celebrated its National Pavilion Day yesterday with Prime Minister Vladimir Filat giving a speech at a ceremony at the Expo Center.

Moldova is showing its role in economic globalization through this Expo, which provided a good opportunity for Moldova and China to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation, Filat said.

He encouraged those who had visited the Moldova Pavilion to visit the country as well, to experience its charms and explore business opportunities there.

Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng said China and Moldova have enjoyed stable development of bilateral ties, mutual political trust, and fruitful economic exchange and cooperation since the two countries established diplomatic relationship 18 years ago.

With “My City Is Your City” as its theme, the Moldova Pavilion shows the beautiful landscapes of hilly plains, vast prairies and dense forests in Moldova. An inverted-pyramid with screens on each side allows visitors to see different video on the screen.

The pavilion also holds tasting sessions of the best Moldavian wines and displays the country’s traditional folk art. The pavilion is inside the Europe Joint Pavilion II.
