The number of visitors to the Hong Kong Pavilion topped 1 million on Saturday, halfway through the six-month Expo.

The pavilion, themed “Hong Kong – Potential Unlimited,” attracts about 10,000 visitors every day since opening. While the Hong Kong exhibition in the Urban Best Practices Area, themed “Smart Card, Smart City, Smart Life,” receives about 8,000 visitors every day.

Their operators are very pleased that the two pavilions remain hot attractions among Expo visitors, said Patrick Chan, the commissioner of HKSAR Expo Affairs Office, on Saturday.

“Offering quality service to visitors is our priority,” Chan said, adding that he hoped every visitor is well looked after and has a memorable experience.

The Hong Kong Pavilion focuses on the special administrative region’s transport network, advanced scientific facilities, financial and trade systems, multicultural society, and sustainable, high-quality urban life.

Hong Kong’s UBPA showcase highlights the creative use of smart card technology. Visitors will learn about how creative smart card applications have made life convenient in Hong Kong.
