Friday, June 11th, 2010

More than 12 million people will visit the Expo site this month with a daily average of 400,000 to 450,000, according to the estimation by the traffic coordination and guarantee group of the Expo.

A smooth increase is expected and the peak may appear in late June with a daily record of 600,000 visitors.

The rise was attributed to free tickets holders, the Dragon Boat Festival from June 14 (Monday) to 16 (Wednesday) and summer holiday of students.

Families with local permanent household registrations, those with local permanent residence permits and those holding local temporary residence permits for at least six months are eligible for the gift pack, which include a thank-you letter, an Expo site map and a souvenir badge in the shape of mascot Haibao. The first batch of families got the kit starting this month.
