Sponsors of the 2010 World Expo today echoed the organizers’ call in protecting Expo-related intellectual property rights, including the application of its name, emblem, mascot and volunteer logo and slogan.
Chen Xianjin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said sponsors should keep in mind IPR protection and those infringing on the Expo intellectual property rights will be severely punished.
Companies or individuals could report cases of infringement occurring in the Expo site to the bureau.
Global partners, senior sponsors and project sponsors as well as catering and retail providers at the Expo today signed documents promising they would abide by IPR rules and regulations.
