经  理:当然。
马  丁:对不起,我可以问几个问题吗?
经  理:这是马丁·勒纳,他是记者。
女    :好。
马  丁:你喜欢这种服装吗?
女    :喜欢。
马  丁:喜欢什么?
女    :我喜欢这种衬衫,我喜欢这种裤子,我喜欢这种裙子,我喜欢(这儿的)一切。
马  丁:你喜欢这些颜色吗?
女    :喜欢。看这条蓝裙子,很好看。

MANAGER: This is Martin Learner. He’s a reporter.
FEMALE: OK.
MARTIN: Do you like this clothing?
FEMALE: Yes.
MARTIN: What do you like?
FEMALE: I like the shirts. I like the pants. I like the skirts. I like everything.
MARTIN: Do you like the colors?
FEMALE: Yes. See this blue dress. It’s very nice.
MANAGER: You look wonderful in blue.
FEMALE: I’m very big. I’m tall and I’m big. I like the outdoors. This clothing is good outdoors.
MANAGER: The clothing is strong.
FEMALE: And I’m strong.
MARTIN: Are you a farmer?
FEMALE: No, but I work outdoors. I’m a gardener. I like to work in my garden.
MARTIN: Do you wear this in the garden?
FEMALE: Not only in the garden.
MARTIN: Thanks.

Australia announces on Tuesday a funding of more than 433 million dollars (395.58 billion U.S. dollars) that helps students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Minister for Social Inclusion Juliao Gillard said Universities will receive around 540 dollars (493.24 U.S. dollars) per eligible student in 2010, and is expected to be 1,400 dollars (1,278.77 U.S. dollars) in 2013, depending on the enrollments. There will also be a 42 million dollars (38.37 million U.S. dollars) as an incentive to enroll more students from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Minister Gillard released the Measuring the Socio-economic Status of Higher Education Students discussion paper on defining and measuring socio-economic status of students, which The Bradley Review of Australian Higher Education recommended as well.

The current Australian Government is committed to see 20 percent of all Australian undergraduates to be from low socio-economic backgrounds by 2020 and 40 percent of 25 to 34-year-olds with bachelor level qualification or above, by 2025.

Time of great passion (1985-1989)

In the mid-1980s, Western Culture and art poured into China, exerting great influence on Chinese oil painting. It provided opportunities for Chinese painters to absorb new skills from Western paintings. Some young painters showed great interest in modern Western painting schools and started to imitate their styles, establishing a painting trend called the ’85 New Trend (because the trend was most popular in 1985).

Representative figures: Zhang Qun ,Meng Luding, Li Shan, Zhang Xiaogang, Wang Xuhui, Wang Guangyi, Jin Shangyi.

Representative work: Zhang Qun and Meng Luding’s ” Enlightenment of Adam andEve in the New Age, ” which is the most remarkable work combining symbolism and Western Surrealism

Rapid development (1900-2000)

The Reform and Opening up Policy brought a historical transition to China, and also celebrated the development of oil painting. Artists began to high on explaining the innermost feelings and strive for changing. During those 10 years, emerged many new painting styles, such as a political pope, cynical realism, colorful vulgar art, new expressionism and others.

Representative figures: Wang Guangyi, Zhang Xiaogang, Fang Lijun, Liu Xiaodong, Feng Zhengjie, Shang Yang, Shi Chong.

Future of Chinese oil painting

In the five years of the new century, a generation born around the 1980s began to appear in art circles. At the same time many Chinese artists were seeking a harmonious blend of east and west, as well as the classical and modern. They tried their best to create a kind of Chinese oil painting with a spirit of local color and age.
