Xi’an lies on the Central Shaanxi Plains,
北邻渭河 南依秦岭
with the Weihe River to the north and

The ancient important trade route,

the Silk Road, started right from here.
西安是华夏文明的发祥地
As the cradle of Chinese civilization,

Xi’an is also dubbed as a giant
museum of Chinese history.
与雅典 罗马 开罗齐名
On a par with Athens, Rome and Cairo,
并称为世界四大文明古都
Xi’an is known as one the world’s four
greatest ancient cities of civilizations.
被联合国教科文组织
The UNESCO World Heritage site,
评为世界遗产的秦始皇陵
the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum,
位于风景秀丽的骊山北麓
is situated at the northern foot
of the scenic Lishan Mountain.
不仅是一个结构宏大
It is not only a structurally huge
富丽堂皇的地下王宫
and imposing underground palace,
同时也是一座内容无比丰富的文物宝库
but also a treasure-trove of a

The Terra-Cotta Warriors and
Horses Museum lies 1.5 kilometers

north of the imperial tomb.

the powerful state of Qi dispatches
troops to attack the state of Lu.
鲁国国王亲自率领军队准备大战一场
King of Lu leads his troops personally,
ready to battle it out.
齐国的军队马上就要进攻了
“The Qi army is ready to attack us.
将士们 准备迎战
I order you all to get ready to fight back!”
大王 现在还不是出击的时候
“Your Majesty, now it is not opportune to

齐军看鲁军没有动静
Seeing no response from the Lu army,
就再一次擂响战鼓
the Qi army beat their battle drums again.
我们现在出兵吧
“Now, should we send out our troops?”

齐军第三次擂响战鼓
The Qi army beat their drums for
the third time.
国王看了看曹刿
The Lu King throws a quick glance
at Cao Gui.
曹刿没有反应
But Cao Gui keeps silent.
齐军第三次战鼓停了下来
The Qi army’s third drumming
has stopped.
大王 我们可以出击了
“Your Majesty, now we can hit back.”
好 擂鼓出击
“Good. Beat our drums and hit back!”
鲁军全力进攻 打退了齐军
The Lu army goes all out and
beats the Qi army.
战后 国王问曹刿
After the war is over, the Lu King
asks Cao Gui:
咱们为什么要等齐军擂三次鼓后
