黑龙潭位于丽江古城
Heilong Pond is situated at the foot

The water in the pond is
as pure as jade.

The area is warm in winter
and cool in summer.
站在锁翠桥上北望
Standing on the Suocui Bridge

银雕玉塑般的玉龙雪山
visitors can see the scenic
snowy Yulong Mountain,

white clouds.

The expanse of water in the foreground

The blue sky, white clouds, the
snowcapped mountain and old trees

to be preserved to this day.
年迈的东巴跳着祭祀的舞蹈
An old Dongba priest is dancing
a sacrificial dance,
自然神灵的图腾
a totem of natural deities
散发着无声的庄严
emanating a silent solemnity.
关于纳西族
There is a great deal more
worth noticing
还有太多太多值得我们去关注
about the ethnic Naxi people.

春秋时期
During the Spring and

卫懿公是卫国的第十四代君主
Wei Yigong, the 14th King of
the State of Wei,
他特别喜欢鹤
likes cranes so much
整天都与鹤在一起
that he stays with them
all day long.
来 吃条小鱼
“Come on, eat a small fish!”
大王 您都好几天没有上朝了
“Your Majesty, you haven’t
been to court for several days.
这些奏折您必须要批复一下了
These reports need your approval.”
哎呀 你真没用
“Whew, you are so useless,
有点儿什么事都来找我
always troubling me with such
trivial matters!
你们就不能自己解决嘛
Can’t you solve them yourselves?
快出去 快出去
Get out of here!
别惊动了我的鹤
Don’t scare my cranes!”
就这样 卫懿公常常不理朝政
Thus King Wei Yigong often ignores
his court duties.
满脑子都是他的鹤
All he cares about are his cranes.
为了养鹤
Keeping the cranes
他每年都耗费大量国家财富
costs the state an enormous
amount of wealth.
甚至还让鹤乘高级豪华的马车
The king even allows his cranes
to ride luxury carriages.
这一切都引起了大臣们的不满
All this causes discontent
among his ministers.
后来 北狄部落侵入卫国国境
Later, a northern tribe invades
the border of Wei.
卫懿公着了慌
Wei Yigong becomes worried.
哪位将军愿意为本王出征
“Which of you generals would like
to launch an expedition
抵抗外敌
and fight the enemy?”
大王 既然在我们国家
“Your Majesty, since the cranes
in our country
鹤享有的地位比将军大臣们都要高
enjoy a much higher status
than us generals,
那么现在就让它替您去打仗吧
you’d better ask them to
fight for you.”
满朝将士都不愿为他去打仗
No commanders would want to
fight for him.
卫懿公只好亲自带兵出征
In the end, Wei Yigong has to
lead the expedition himself
和北狄人在荥泽开战
and launch an attack on the
tribal troops at Xingze.
由于军心不齐 结果战败而死
Due to shaken morale of his army,
Wei Yigong is defeated and killed.
从此 人们就把卫懿公迷恋鹤的
Since then people have called
Wei Yigong’s
这种行为称作玩物丧志
obsession with cranes “wan
wu sang zhi”
