历时半个月的上海之行

in the Southern Dynasties,

in ancient China.

永嘉 庐山等地的山水名胜
Yongjia and Lushan Mountain.
善于刻画自然景物

from the Three Kingdom Period

这天下的文学才华如果有一石
if the world’s total talent was
one “dan”,
也就是十斗的话
or ten “dou”,
那么 其中曹植可独占八斗
Cao Zhi’s talent would account
for eight “dou”,
而我能占一斗
and mine would claim
only one “dou”.
剩下的一斗
And the remaining one “dou”
才是天下人的
would come from the rest
of the world people.”
“才高八斗”这则成语
The idiom “cai gao ba dou”,
原意是指人的才能有八斗之高
literally eight “dou” of talent,
现在用来形容人极有才华
is used to describe someone’s
学识非常丰富
extraordinary talent and great learning.
