As Dinghai used to be a coastal

against foreign invasion.

那我们现在所在的这个位置

The place where we’re standing

就是鸦片战争的古战场遗址

is one of the historical sites

of the Opium War.

To commemorate that historical period,

还在这里修建了一座纪念馆

locals built this memorial museum.

那我们一定要进去看看

We must go in to have a look.

本周 我们的车队来到舟山

This past week, our team

arrived in Zhoushan,

这个中国唯一的群岛城市

China’s only archipelago city.

我们的行程从定海开始

We started our journey in Dinghai

先后经过了普陀山 沈家门和桃花岛

and also visited Putuo Mountain,

Shenjiamen and Peach Blossom Island.

定海是舟山群岛政治 经济 文化的中心

Dinghai is the political, economic

and cultural center of Zhoushan.

也是中国唯一的海岛历史文化名城

It is also China’s only historical

and cultural island town.

多姿多彩的民俗文化传承已久

the centuries-old folk cultural traditions

form a brilliant charm of Zhoushan.

普陀山作为中国四大佛教名山之一

Putuo Mountain is one of China’s four

Here, we watched the sea,

bought some seafood

and cooked a big seafood meal

at the offbeat night seafood stall.

His poetry is passionate

and freewheeling,

想象奇特

full of queer imaginations.

有一天 他和朋友饮酒聊天

One day, he is chatting while

drinking with a friend.

人人都说长兄是酒仙转世

“Everybody says you are an

incarnation of the God of Wine.

今日一见果然是名不虚传啊

Our meeting today proves

it’s not false.”

我只是在高兴时多喝一些罢了

“I only drink a bit more

when I’m happy.

怎么就成神仙了呢

How can I be the God

of Wine?”

哎 我可听说这附近的山中

“Eh, I heard there is an old deity

就有一位老神仙

in the adjacent mountains.

他可以腾云驾雾

He can mount the clouds

and ride mist.

十分神奇

He is really miraculous.”

“Really?

那我一定要找到他

If so, I must find him

让他带我飞上九天

and ask him to take me to

the zenith of Heaven.”

第二天一早

The following morning,

李白就进山去寻找神仙

Li Bai gets into the mountains

and looks for the deity.

可是直到下午也没找到

He looks for him till the afternoon

but can’t find him.

唉 好累啊

“Oh, I’m so tired.

我可得歇一会儿了

I have to take a rest.”

李白坐在一块大石头上休息

Li Bai is resting on a huge rock.

眼前有一条清澈的小溪

A lucid stream

从他面前静静地流过

flows quietly before him.

溪水中时而有片片桃花瓣儿

On the stream are some

peach blossom petals

自由自在地顺水漂向远方

floating leisurely downstream

into the distance.

虽然我没找到神仙

“Although I didn’t find the deity,

但是这里的美景

the beautiful scenery

已经让人觉得身处世外了

has already put me outside

the world.

大概神仙就住在这里吧

Perhaps, the deity resides right here.”

李白被这眼前的美丽景色感染

Drawing inspiration from the

beautiful scenery,

立刻写下了著名的诗句

Li Bai writes the following

famous verses:

“桃花流水窅然去

“As the peach blossom flows downstream

and is gone into the unknown,

别有天地非人间”

I have a world apart that is
