这一周 我们的行程

This past week, we started

our journey

从临海古城开始

in the old city Linhai,

经过风光迷人的桃渚

and passed through the scenic

town Taozhu

最后进入台州市区

before entering the city of Taizhou.

这一路上

All the way,

又有了不少新的收获

it was another most rewarding trip.

现在啊

Now,

我就来跟大家汇报汇报吧

let me give you an account

of the trip.

临海是国家级的历史文化名城

Linhai is a national-level historical

and cultural city.

巾子山 龙兴寺

It is known for Jinzi Mountain,

Longxing Temple,

紫阳街 东湖

Ziyang Street, Donghua Lake

大大小小的古迹多得数都数不过来

and countless other sites of

historical interest.

我们边走边看

We looked as we walked along.

韩佳说 其实临海

Han Jia said, in fact,

in Linhai,

还有一座保护得很好的古城

there is another well-preserved

old town.

它就在桃渚

That is Taozhu.

桃渚是一个风景秀丽的地方

Taozhu is a place with beautiful scenery.

也是临海

It is also an important component

国家地质公园的重要组成部分

of the Linhai National Geological Park.

历史悠久的军事古城

The ancient military defense works,

奇特的火山地质景观

the unique volcanic topography

幽静的田园风光

and the tranquil pastoral landscape

这些都是您到这儿来

are all must-sees

不能不看的内容

if you come to Linhai.

台州是一座很有活力的滨海城市

Taizhou is a dynamic coastal city

同时也是一座发展中的生态型城市

as well as a developing ecological city.

您可以在市民广场散步

You can also take a walk in

Shimin Square or

在海门老街怀古

marvel at history along the old

Haimen Street.

还可以去艺术馆

you can also visit the art museum

欣赏工艺精湛的玻雕

to enjoy the exquisite glass carvings

和翻簧竹雕工艺品

and Fanhuang bamboo carvings there.

其实 在中国古代啊

In fact, in ancient China,

也有一位作家写过一部

there was also a writer

who wrote

描写优美田园风光的作品

a prose on pastoral beauty.

啊 是谁啊

Who was it?

陶渊明

Tao Yuanming.

他写的那部作品呢

The prose he wrote

叫《桃花源记》

is called The Tale of the Peach

Blossom Spring.

虽然他描写的是一个虚构的地方

Although the place he wrote

about was illusory,

不过那种生活也同样让人迷恋

that kind of life is equally fascinating.

那他是怎么描写的呢

How did he depict it?

太多了

Oh, he said a lot.

不过要说具体的生活场景啊

But as for a specific scene

of life,

最有名的就是

the most famous sentence is

“阡陌交通 鸡犬相闻”了

“I traveled through the crisscrossing paths,

hearing roosters crow and dogs bark.”

陶渊明是晋代著名的诗人

Tao Yuanming was a famous

poet of the Jin Dynasty.

他生性热爱自然

He had an innate love

of nature

参加农业劳动

and enjoyed doing farm work.

向往平和安宁

He longed for a peaceful, calm

自由自在的生活

and carefree life.

但是 陶渊明的大半生

But Tao Yuanming spent most

of his life

却处于晋 宋两朝

in the chaotic years between

交替的一个混乱时代

the late Jin and the early

Song dynasties.

陶渊明的理想无法实现

Tao Yuanming was unable to

realize his dreams.

他只好在诗歌中

He had only to express

抒发忧国忧民的情感

his care and concern for his country

and people through his poems.

脍炙人口的《桃花源记》

The highly acclaimed The Tale

of the Peach Blossom Spring

就是他为黎民百姓

is about the ideal society

描绘的一个理想社会

he depicted for the common people.

桃花源是一个美丽的村庄

Peach Blossom Spring is a

beautiful village.

有着肥沃的田地

The cropland here is fertile,

美丽的池塘和大片大片的桑林

with beautiful ponds and large

mulberry groves.

田间的小路 交错相通

Paths crisscross the fields

人们来来往往在耕地里劳作

People come and go tilling

the land.

邻里之间和睦相处

Neighbors live in amity with

each other.

老人和小孩都充满喜悦之情

The old and the young are filled

with happiness

显得心满意足

and contentedness.

住户相互之间 不时能听见

From time to time, neighbors

can hear

鸡鸣狗叫的声音

each other’s chickens crowing

and dogs barking.

村里一片和谐安宁的景象

The whole village is a scene of

life in peace and harmony.

“鸡犬相闻”这则成语就是

The idiom “ji quan xiang wen” originated

从这个故事中得来的

from this very story.

“鸡犬相闻”这则成语原意是指

“Ji quan xiang wen” literally means

鸡和狗的叫声能互相听见

neighbors can hear each other’s

chickens crow and dogs bark.

表示居住邻近

It is used as a metaphor for

它比喻百姓安居乐业的太平景象

a scene where people live and

work happily.
