Short-term scholarship for overseas Chinese teacher: exemption of register fee, tuition, and free accommodation and emergency medical care. Scholar enjoys a one-off subsidy for subsistence. Scholar participated in the free travel are free of accommodation and travelling fee and an amount of food subsidy.
The Chinese government will adjust the scholarship standard from time to time, please refer to the specific circumstances of the printed by the China Scholarship Council, “Chinese government scholarship abroad student admission guidelines.”
Scholarship students shall get their monthly living allowance from the date of registration. Those who register before 15th (15th included) of the registration month will get the living allowance of a full month, and those who register after 15th will get that of a half month. Scholarship of the graduates will be paid half month after their graduation date. Scholarship of those who suspend or quit their studies will be stopped from the following month. Monthly living allowance will be paid during Chinese national holidays. Scholarship students who do not get the monthly living allowance during holidays can get reimbursed on return. Monthly living allowance of the scholarship students who do not register on time or stay away from university up to one month because of non-health reasons will be stopped.
1 Costs of the laboratory experiment or internship that beyond the university’s arrangements should be afforded by the student himself.
2 If scholars come to China are found to be suffering from disease which Chinese law are not allowed entry to china, scholar should immediately come back for home country and pay the travel expenses.
3 In the studying period, Scholars should go to the school hospital for treatment. If necessary, school hospital will introduce a designated hospital for treatment. Scholars inlaying teeth, mending teeth, pulling out teeth, get glasses, giving birth, having introduced abortion, correcting physical defects, buying Nutrition tonic and other expenses out of Public health ranges and standards ,as well as treating Chronic diseases suffered before come to china, these expenses should paid by scholar-self.
If scholars violating of the law, and school discipline led to injury and death, the medical and other costs should be paid by the scholar himself.
4 Scholarship students who have to suspend their education for reason of illness should:
-Return to their home country for further treatment and rest;
-The international travel expenses of return and coming back should be shouldered by the students themselves;
-The scholarship status will be reserved for at most one year;
-The monthly living allowance will be stopped during the suspension of education;
-The scholarship of the students who suspend their education for reasons other than illness will be terminated.
Application
Undergraduate scholarship, master scholarship, doctor scholarship, advanced study of Chinese scholarship, regular advanced scholarship, senior advanced study scholarship; these applicants may apply to Chinese diplomatic missions or the competent authorities in their home country between February and April every year. Applicants may refer to the relevant authorities for details.
Other scholarships applications are as follows:
Great wall scholarship: applicants can apply through UNESCO of their country to the UNESCO headquarters, applying time is from February to April every year.
Excellent overseas scholarships: applied to the China Scholarship Council through the host school, applying time is from April to June every year.
HSK winner scholarship: applied to the China Scholarship Council through the HSK examination organizers or consulate, applying time is from April to June every year.
Chinese culture research scholarship: applied to the China Scholarship Council through the Chinese Embassy, Consulate or Chinese University at any time;
Short-term scholarship for overseas Chinese teacher: applied to the China Scholarship Council through the Chinese Embassy, Consulate or Chinese University at February to April every year;
International cooperation and exchanges department of Ministry of Education is responsible for approving applications for these scholarships.
Application Materials
The applicants must fill in and provide the following materials truly and correctly.
1 Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (printed by CSC).
2 Highest diploma (notarized photocopy).If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide documents of being university students or on-post employees.
3 Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority) for overseas whose period of studies in China lasts up to six months
4 A study or research plan (no less than 200 words).
5 Applicants in abroad of master degree, doctor degree or the senior scholar should be issued recommendation letters by the two professors or associate professor; applicants in China for master’s degree, doctorate, should to be issued admission notice of the apply school.
6 Applicants for music are requested to submit the applicants’ own work.
7 overseas applicants for undergraduate medical, engineering or agriculture, should issue an additional submission of the math, physics and chemistry test result organized by the Chinese embassy, or high school Education Examination results where he graduated from. Applicants for economics and management should issue an additional submission of the math, physics and chemistry test result; applicants in china should give the entrance test results and admission notice of relevant school.
8 Applicants for Chinese culture research scholarship should issue with their own works or papers catalog.
Admission of scholars and arrived way
Scholars are arranged by the China Scholarship Council scholarship to study in the colleges and universities designated by the Ministry of Education. In the light of the conditions and willing of applicants, China Scholarship Council checks the applying materials, and transfers these to colleges and universities. Colleges and universities decide whether to admit the applicant or not.
Overseas Applicants for taking undergraduates, master degree, and doctor degrees without entrance test, colleges and universities will firstly admit them as a probationer. The trial period is one year. After passing the entrance tests or related courses examinations, trial students turn to formal students continuing the studies. Credits of the Trial period will be counted in total credits. Applicants who need Chinese language schools before the professional learning should passed the school’s entrance examination or related courses examinations before entering the formal learning. Students not pass the exam in the required time will graduate as an Advanced Student and come back to home.
CSC scholarships contribute the admission list and ” Visa Application for Study in China ” (JW201 table) and the school’s “admission notice” and other documents to the students Dispatch department through diplomatic channels, the latter one is responsible for notifying students before July 30 every year.
scholars should hold a valid ordinary passports, ” Visa Application for Study in China” and ” Admission Notice ” and ” Physical Examination Record For Foreigner ” (for 6 months or more) coming to the Chinese Ambassador and the Consulate General to apply for a visa to study in China. Scholars should take these documents above-mentioned coming school to register.
Scholars’ major switch, school transfer and extension learning period
In principle, Scholars can not switch major, transfer and extend study period after come to China. If there are special circumstances need to switch major, transfer and extend study period, scholars should apply to the China Scholarship Council through the overseas dispatching departments of their home country. China Scholarship Council will arrange these requires together. If were not permitted, the scholar will be disqualified.
Annual Review of Chinese Government Scholarship Status
To give full play to the Chinese government scholarship incentives, in accordance with measures of Annual Review of Chinese Government Scholarship Status made by the Ministry of Education, Colleges and Universities conduct a comprehensive evaluation on academic scholarships for more than a year annually. It will decide whether they are qualified to continue enjoying or to renew the scholarship.
