Arriving at Shilin Night Market
Gabe: Dude, look at all the people! How are we ever going to cram ourselves in there?
Morley: We’ll be OK. You just walk in and become part of the flow.
Gabe: There’s nothing like this at home. Malls don’t even get this packed.
Morley: Chinese people love night markets to be like this. They call it “renao”, which kind of just means “this place is happening.”
Gabe: Holy cow, what’s wrong with that beggar? Do you see all those ridges in the back of his head?
Morley: Yeah. He’s always here.
