我发现这里的植物真不少。

I find there are quite a lot

of plants here.

干脆叫植物园算了，

It’d be more suitable to

这样更加贴切。

call it a botanical garden.

韩佳：我觉得不贴切。

I don’t think so.

大牛：为什么？

Why not?

韩佳：还是叫生态园比较准确。

It’s more accurate to call it

an ecological park.

你看看这些露天烧烤场。

Look at these open-air barbecue

facilities.

大牛：看到了。

I see them.

不就是露天烧烤嘛。

But they are just open-air barbecue

facilities.

这有什么稀奇的。哪儿都有。

They are not unusual. They can be

found in other places.

韩佳：我还没说完呢。

I haven’t finished yet.

那些烧烤炉周围的树

The trees around the barbecue stoves

叫印度橡胶榕。

are called Indian rubber trees

它大大的树叶

Their broad leaves

会把烟里面的有害物质

can absorb the harmful substances

都吸收了。

in the smoke.

所以在这里烧烤

So barbecuing here

比较有益于环保。

is environment-friendly.

I’m learning again.

韩佳：这里还有很多这样的例子呢。

Look, Daniel,

这些就是泰国品种的青柠檬。

these are green-lemon trees

introduced from Thailand.

不过在它们中间还种植着一种树。

But growing among them is another

kind of tree.

叫凤凰吟。

It called the phoenix tree.

你知道这样种有什么好处吗？

Do you know the advantages

of such inter-planting?

大牛：在这里除了好看之外，

Apart from the fact they look

more beautiful,

看不出有别的好处啊。

I don’t see any other advantages.

大牛：它既像葡萄又像番茄。

It looks like both a grape

and a tomato.

What is it exactly?

Tāmen jì xiàng pútáo yòu xiàng fānqié, jiūjìng shì shénme ne?

它们 既 像 葡萄 又 像 番茄，究竟 是 什么 呢？

They look like both grapes and a tomatos.

What are they exactly?

韩佳：“究竟”是一个语气副词，

“Jiujing” is an adverb,

表示追究、一问到底，

meaning “exactly” or “after all”,

和“到底”的意思是一样的。

the same as “daodi”.

那我现在就告诉你。

Let me tell you what it is.

这种是以色列的车厘茄。

This is the cherry tomato introduced

from Israel.

大牛：车厘茄？

The cherry tomato?

我还是头一次听说。

This is the first time I’ve ever

heard of it.

韩佳：这种车厘茄的形状长得像番茄，

Cherry tomatoes look like tomatoes

但是又比番茄要小得多。

but are much smaller than tomatoes.

像这种红一点儿的吃起来就很甜，

The red ones taste as sweet

像水果。

as fruit.

大牛：那我得尝尝。

I’d like to taste some.

韩佳：这些都还没有长成熟呢。

These are not ripe yet.

The chili pepper is very hot.

怎么能生吃呢？

How can we eat it raw?

韩佳：咱俩都搭档那么长时间了。

We’ve been co-hosts for such

这种不是辣椒，是甜椒。

They are not chili peppers, but

sweet peppers.

它还有一个很好听的名字，

And they have a very nice name,

叫七彩圆椒。

called the colored bell pepper.
