韩佳:快乐学汉语,轻松又好记。
Learn Chinese with fun. It’s much
easier to remember.
大家好,欢迎来到《快乐中国》。
Hello there. Welcome to Happy China.
我是快乐的韩佳。
I am the happy Han Jia.
大牛:我是快乐的大牛。
And I am the happy Daniel.
韩佳:今天我和大牛啊
Today Daniel and I are going
要带您一起在乐山的东方佛都学汉语。
to take you to the Oriental Buddha Park
of Leshan to learn Chinese.
大牛:什么?
What?
问我们这东方佛都里有一些啥?
You asked me what’s inside the park?
您可真够性急的。
You are so anxious.
一会儿进去不就知道了嘛。
You’ll find it out after we get inside.
来。
Come on.
韩佳,
Han Jia,
这个地方的名字叫做东方佛都,
Since it’s called the Oriental Buddha Park,
我想今天一定能看到很多佛像。
I guess we’ll see lots of Buddha
statues here.
韩佳:我还听人家介绍说,
I also heard
这里是一座荟萃了佛教雕刻艺术精品的
this is an open-air museum
露天博物馆。
of excellent Buddhist sculptures.
大牛:听你这么一说,
Hearing what you said,
我觉得我们今天又能大饱眼福了。
I am sure we’ll have a feast for our eyes.
Wǒ juéde wǒmen jīntiān yòu néng dà bǎo yǎn fú le.
我 觉得 我们 今天 又 能 大 饱 眼福 了。
I think today is going to be a feast
for the eyes too.
韩佳:而且可能还不止呢。
Maybe more than that.
大牛:哦?难道说还能大饱口福啊?
What? Could we also have a feast
for our stomach?
那就太好了!
That’d be great!
韩佳:这才几点啊?你又饿了。
What time is it? And you are hungry.
我的意思是说
I mean that
我们今天不止能饱眼福,还能长知识呢。
we can not only feast our eyes,
but also gain knowledge.
大牛:不过话说回来,
Having said that,
我们走了这么久了,
we’ve walked for quite a long while,
怎么还没有看见一尊佛像呢。
but haven’t seen a single Buddha yet.
韩佳:谁说的。你看看对面那座山峰。
That’s not true. Look at that peak
over there.
大牛,大牛。
Daniel, Daniel.
我告诉你吧,
Let me tell you
这尊巨型卧佛
this huge reclining Buddha was sculpted
它是仿照大足石刻卧佛雕凿而成的。
in imitation of the Dazu rock Buddha statue.
全长有170米,
170 meters in length, it falls into
属于摩崖造像。
the category of bas-reliefs on precipices.
大牛:我还是第一次看到这么长的卧佛。
This is the first time I’ve ever seen
such a huge reclining Buddha.
刚才整个人都堂目结舌了。
I am wholly “tang mu jie she”.
韩佳:你又认字认半边了吧。
You again pronounced a word
on the basis of its side part.
这个字念“瞠”,
It should be pronounced “cheng”,
not “tang”.
瞠目结舌。
“cheng mu jie she”.
“瞠”就是瞪大了眼睛看。
“cheng” means to see with
wide-opened eyes.
整个成语就是形容人惊呆了的样子。
The whole phrase means “dumbstruck”.
大牛:“瞠”读一声,就是瞪大了眼睛看。
“cheng”, 1st tone, means to stare.
“瞠目结舌”形容人惊呆了的样子。
“cheng mu jie she” means to be dumbstruck.
瞠目结舌。
“cheng mu jie she”.
Táng mù jié shé
瞠 目 结 舌
to be dumbstruck
韩佳:大牛,你干什么呢?
Daniel, what are you doing?
大牛:我在数这里的佛像。
I am counting the Buddha statues here.
韩佳:你要数清楚这大佛湾里到底有多少尊佛像,
If you want to find out the exact number of
Buddha statues here,
那可得费点时间了。
that would take a lot of time.
不如先来听我讲讲吧。
You’d better listen to my explanation.
大牛:好,好啊。
Okay, go ahead.
估计这里的佛像个个都是精品吧。
I presume all of them are fine art works.
韩佳:嗯,这回说对了。
Yeah, you said right this time.
它们都是以中国著名的佛像为蓝本仿制的。
They are all modeled on famous
Chinese Buddha “lan ben”.
是真正的精品荟萃。
They are a collection of fine works of art.
大牛:停,停,停。对不起,
Wait a minute. I am sorry,
刚才你说的那个“蓝本”是什么意思?
what does “lan ben” mean here?
我从来没听说过。
I’ve never heard of it before.
韩佳:“蓝本”原来是指著作所根据的底本,
“lan ben” originally refers to a blueprint,
在这里就引申为仿制佛像所根据的原形。
here it means a model for replicas to
be made.
大牛:“蓝本”,“蓝”读二声,“本”读三声,指底本;
“lan ben”, second tone, third tone,
means a blueprint,
在这里就引申为仿制佛像所根据的原形。
here it means a model for replicas
to be made.
蓝本。
“lan ben”.
韩佳,你看。
Han Jia, look.
这不是杭州飞来峰的大肚弥勒嘛?
Isn’t this the big-bellied Maitreya?
我看过。
I have seen the image before.
韩佳:你又打岔。
You are interrupting me again.
这儿的佛像有的是被放大的,
Some of the Buddha statues here
are enlarged
有的是被缩小的。
and some are reduced compared
with the originals.
每一尊都体现了
Every statue here reflects
中国佛教雕刻艺术的高超技艺。
the superb skills of Chinese Buddhist
sculpture.
大牛:这么多佛像,我的眼睛都看花了。
There are so many Buddha statues
here that I feel dazzled.
韩佳:好了,好了,最后再说一尊。
Okay, let me introduce another one.
沿着这些台阶上去,正对着的
Climb up these steps and you’ll
see a replica
就是仿自山西大同的云冈大佛。
of the Yungang Buddha in Datong of Shanxi.
这尊云冈大佛高13.7米,
13.7 meters high,
是和原作一样高的。
it is exactly of the same height as
the original.
大牛:没想到,没想到
It’s beyond my expectation that
不用到大同也可以欣赏到云冈大佛。
without going to Datong I could also
see a Yungong-style Buddha here.
韩佳:这么说来
So
这次我们还真看了不少佛像啊。
we did see many Buddha statues
on this trip.
大牛:把我以前看到过的佛像加起来,
All the Buddha statues I’ve seen in
the past, put together,
也没有我们这次看到的多。
are not as many as that we saw today.
韩佳:那当然了。
That’s for sure.
要知道这里有大大小小的佛像三千多尊呢。
Do you know there are more than 3,000
Buddha statues here, big and small.
Zhèli yǒu dàdà xiǎoxiǎo de fóxiàng sānqiān duō zūn.
这里 有 大大 小小 的 佛像 三千 多 尊。
There are over 3,000 Buddhist statues
of all shapes and sizes located here.
大牛:可是除了中国的佛像。
But they are all Chinese Buddha statues.
其他国家的我都没有看到。
I haven’t seen any from other countries.
韩佳:别急嘛。一会儿就能看到了。
Don’t worry. You’ll see them soon.
大牛:韩佳,我找到了。
Han Jia, I found them.
韩佳:瞧把你高兴的。
Look how excited you are.
不过一次能看到这么多外国的佛像
But it is really not easy to see so many
的确挺难得的。
foreign Buddha statues all at once.
大牛:而且每尊佛像都那么有特色。
And each has its own special features.
这里有缅甸的、日本的、柬埔寨的、印度的。
They are from Myanmar, Japan,
Cambodia and India.
虽然都是仿制品,
Though they are all replicas,
但是还是有原作的精美。
they all show the exquisiteness of
the originals.
韩佳:是啊,今天可真是饱眼福了。
Yes, indeed. Today’s visit is indeed
a feast for our eyes.
可是我怎么觉得还是没看够啊。
But I feel I haven’t seen enough of them.
大牛:其实我也一样。
Me too.
幸好还有我们今天的赏心悦目。
Fortunately we have Today’s Feast for
the Eyes.
赏心悦目:
园中佛像高大而精美
There are imposing and beautiful Buddha statues
in the Oriental Buddha Park.
用多种表现手法和不同材质构成
They are made of different materials
and by different methods.
近赏雕琢精细
The visitor will be awed by the craftsmanship
远观气势磅薄
and magnificence of these exhibits.
不同国度的佛教艺术风格
There is a whole range of Buddhist artistic styles
尽在园中巧妙融合
of different countries in this park.
利用自然山体的延伸,
Taking advantage of the mountain terrain,
曲折蜿蜓地构造了壮观的佛教画卷长廊
the whole park is a spectacular gallery
of Buddhist art.
韩佳:欢聚的时光总是很短暂。
A happy gathering always ends quickly.

Chinese Conversation – lesson 308
Thursday, January 1st, 2009阿丹出来
阿丹:我在这。我在礼品店迷路了。有好多东西可以看。
卡西:你有买东西吗?
阿丹:本来想买,但我想我还是先看看老街会不会卖得比较便宜。
卡西:好主意,宝贝。我敢说我们甚至可以在那里杀到更便宜的价钱。
阿丹:嗯,那部分就交给你了。说到讨价还价我可没辄。
卡西:(他们走进店家)喔,看来我们根本不需要伤脑筋了。
Dan comes out
Dan: Here I am. I got lost in the gift shop. There was so much to look at.
Kathy
id you buy anything?
Dan: I was going to, but I thought I would see if things were cheaper in the old part of town first.
Kathy:Good thinking, baby. I bet we can even bargain for a cheaper price there.
Dan: Well, I’ll let you handle that part. I’m terrible when it comes to haggling.
Kathy: [As they walk into a shop] Ooh, I don’t think we even need to bother.
