Tianjin, a co-host city of the Beijing Olympic Games, is making efforts to repair 68 roads and improve the landscape of 20 key areas.
According to the standards set for the project, the renovated roads must be smooth and clean, with green landscaping, underground cables, a splendid night view, efficient communications, standardized advertising, and better commercial services.
The targeted roads lead to the core areas of the city, the route of the Olympic torch relay, trunk ways and the Olympic Sports Stadium where the football competitions will be held during the Olympics in August this year.
In the past seven months, 22 roads have been repaired already, local press reported.
