正是因为有了它 ，我们才可以开车上岛。

几百万年前，

这里发生了剧烈的地质运动。

movements here.

地壳之间互相挤压碰撞，

The earth plates collided with

each other

有一部分岩石就被挤出了海面，

and some rock mass was

squeezed out of the sea,

也就是我们现在看到的半屏山了。

thus forming a mountain like this.
